Mr Chen is the Non-Executive
Chairman, Independent Director of CNA
Group since December 2004. Presently, he is also a Director
of the Singapore Totalisator Board. In
addition, he is the Chairman of the
Archdiocesan Commission for Catholic
Schools of Singapore. Mr Chen’s career has
spanned both the government and private
sectors. During his 12 years in the
government service, he served at the
Ministries of Defence and Finance, and was
the Minister of State for Defence from 1977
to 1981. In the private sector, he was the
General Manager and Director of the
Fraser & Neave Group and subsequently
the Chief Executive Officer of Intraco
Limited.
Mr Chen holds a
Bachelor of Science in Chemical
Engineering (First Class Honours) from
the University of Alberta in Edmonton,
Canada and a Master of Public
Administration from Harvard University in
the USA.
