Khoo Teck Puat Hospital will be the first building in South East Asia to embrace “Connected Real Estate Technology” which digitally converges various buildings, information technology and voice/data subsystems from video surveillance, access control, nurse call system, and data centre equipment, medical systems, environmental control to energy management systems onto a single Internet Protocol (“IP”) Network.
Integration and convergence of critical hospital systems will result in improved patient care and comfort, streamlined operations, increased productivity and reduced energy consumption. When completed in 2010, Khoo Teck Puat Hospital is expected to set a new healthcare standard for future hospitals in the region.
For the KTPH project, CNA will leverage on its powerful integration framework technology, SIRIUSTM, to pull together data from various hospital subsystems – even if they operate on different technologies and protocols -- enabling real time visibility and control over the entire hospital’s portfolio.
This integrated approach helps KTPH improve patient care and comfort, streamline operations, increase productivity and reduce energy consumption. Patient comfort and convenience will be key priorities in the hospital where IP phones, located next to a patient’s bed, may double up as a point of care device for control of lighting, air-conditioning, ordering of meals and receiving signals from biomedical monitoring devices. When completed in March 2010, the hospital is expected to set a new healthcare standard for future hospitals in the region.
CNA was awarded the Master System Integrator contract due to its ability to fulfill KTPH’s vision of an eco-friendly, “hassle-free” and patient-centric hospital. Mobile terminals such as PDAs, tablet personal computers and notebooks provide immediate access to patients’ data and images from every point of care – covering the entire process from patient registration to release, including payment procedures.
In addition, CNA will work hand-in-hand with its subsidiary, GETC Asia Pte Ltd, in
implementing a full spectrum of green initiatives to help create a clean, healthy,
comfortable and energy-efficient environment. Eco-friendly technologies to be deployed
include germicidal UVC emitters for the air-conditioning system to eliminate bacteria,
viruses and mould; Titanium Dioxide for removal of odours and bio-aerosol; green fuel cell
back-up power and rain sensors for weather-responsive controls; and other innovations. |
